Police Department History Book
The Alexandria Police Association and the Alexandria Police Department
authorized a photo history of the police department and the book is
scheduled to be released in early November. The book is being published by
Arcadia Publishing which specializes in local history titles, including
histories of public safety agencies. Many of you were kind enough to share
your personal photos and memories with Amy Bertsch who compiled the
collection and she wanted to let you know the latest.
The Alexandria Police Department is a softback with 128 pages full of more
than 200 black and white photos. These historical images feature officers,
cruisers, motor units, crime scenes, crashes, and old facilities, like 400
North Pitt. The book, listed for $19.99, is due to be out on November 6.
It will be sold at local bookstores and online at www.walmart.com,
www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnobel.com, and other sites. The Alexandria
Police Association will also be able to sell it later this fall. Right
now, Walmart and Amazon taking advance orders and offering signficant
discounts but we don't know how long that special price will be available.
